Blender 3D's compositor offers a great variety of nodes for a multitude of tasks
Despeckle filter node is one of them and is especially useful for reducing noise (that usually appears in Cycle's rendering with low number of samples and glossy or semi-glossy materials and surfaces) and improving/optimizing the overall quality of our renderings
