Variable ND filters are so, so, SO useful! Useful enough in fact that I think ANYONE serious about video work, and even many photographers, should pick one up to add to their kit (if they don't already have one, of course!).
ND's can be a bit out of reach for people starting out, with name brands like Tiffens NDs costing upwards of $50. For the bargain price of only $20 though, you can grab yourself this beauty.
This is an excellent value ND filter, offering great performance at a very affordable price. As far as I have used the filter, it hasn't produced the dreaded 'X' pattern, and only has a slight greening tint and softening effect, hardly noticeable really.
For someone just starting out and trying to build up their kit, this is a great value Variable ND filter and an excellent addition to your gear!
