basket stitch hand embroidery tutorial
The basket stitch is a nice embroidery stitch for thick lines like borders and block letters. Its braided texture can also be used as a fill stitch if you embroider it in rows side by side.
Once the set-up stitches are done, this stitch is a piece of cake to stitch even without a hoop. Most of the time, I recommend using the stabbing method over the sewing method, but the basket stitch is an exception. It is much easier and quicker to embroider this fabulous stitch with the sewing motion.
