Paul Ngozi’s first solo LP, recorded with Ngozi Family. While I have a bad habit of declaring that every Ngozi-related record is “one of their best," I honestly believe that this may in fact be “the best.” Certainly at least a tie with Chrissy Zebby Tembo’s “My Ancestors” and Ngozi Family’s “45,000 Volts!” Just a solid, hard rocking record, with plenty of gratuitous fuzz guitar, psychedelic effects, funk flair, Chrissy’s signature beats, and of course just all around excellent songwriting. I first heard a beat up copy of this record over on Bevan Haines’ YouTube channel (thanks, man), but figured I’d upload a (relatively) cleaner copy here for y’all to enjoy. No idea why this has yet to see a reissue, but perhaps we can all be so lucky as to one day see a 26 LP box set reissue of the entire Ngozi diaspora on Now-Again records. Play this one loud, and be sure to take it easy, babe.
