How to fix "This virtual machine appears to be in use" error in VMware Workstation [2021]
"This virtual machine appears to be in use, press the "Take Ownership" button to obtain ownership of it. Otherwise, press the "Cancel" button to avoid damaging it"
If you get the above error on VMware, try to do the following workaround:
1. Close the VMware Workstation.
2. Open the folder where your VMware files are located indicated in the error message.
3. Delete any .lck or .lock files.
4. Open the VMware Workstation.
5. Start your virtual machine. It should work now!
