The Garmin Forerunner 55 is the GPS watch I recommend most often to members of my running club. It's technically the company's entry-level running watch, but it's packed with so many advanced performance and health-tracking tools it's great for intermediate-level athletes as well. It has some of the most accurate GPS trackings of any watch I've tested (and there have been a lot), and during tough interval sessions on a spin bike, readings from the Forerunner 55 matched up almost exactly with those from a chest strap heart rate monitor. You're also getting a bundle of Garmin's latest training tools here, including daily suggested workouts (great if you find yourself running the same old route over and over), a race time predictor, and a recovery advisor to help ensure you don't overtrain or take things excessively easy. Its monochrome display could be better for displaying maps, but it's workable. All in all, it's an excellent all-rounder and fantastic value at around its cost.
The Polar M200 GPS Running Watch with Wrist-based Heart Rate is a versatile and reliable fitness tracker designed to help runners track their progress and achieve their fitness goals. This watch features GPS technology that accurately tracks your speed, distance, and route, allowing you to easily monitor your progress and adjust your training plan. One of the standout features of this watch is its wrist-based heart rate monitor, which eliminates the need for a separate chest strap. This technology provides continuous heart rate tracking, allowing you to better understand your exertion levels during your workout and adjust your effort accordingly. The watch also offers a variety of training tools, including personalized training targets and interval timers, to help you optimize your workouts and reach your full potential. The Polar M200 is also compatible with the Polar Flow app, which allows you to track your progress, connect with friends, and analyze your performance data. With its durable and waterproof design, the Polar M200 GPS Running Watch is an excellent choice for runners who want to take their training to the next level.
Starting with the build, the watch comes with a premium plastic build that looks pretty compact and solid in your hands. It has the same square-shaped dial, a standard design in the market today. The watch is very lightweight and weighs about 33 grams, making it very comfortable for daily usage. On the right-hand side of the watch, you will find a multi-functional button that you can use to navigate through the watch interface and turn the screen on / off. You can take this watch for a quick shower or in your sweaty workouts, as it comes with IPX5 water resistance. Moving on to the display, Amazfit Bip 3 packs a 1.69-inch TFT display. It offers a resolution of 240 x 280 pixels with 218 PPI. The touchscreen comes with 2.5D tempered glass protection and anti-fingerprint coating, adding an extra layer of protection to the screen. The display quality is decent and similar to what you would expect from a smartwatch at this price range. Coming to the interface, the watch UI is very clean and easy to use, similar to most Amazfit watches. It works fluently without issues or lags, offering an excellent overall experience. It is full of colorful visuals and graphs that look very good with the design. Amazfit Bip 3 packs a 280 mAH battery inside, which the company claims will last about 14 days. Meanwhile, on the grounds, with all the battery-consuming features turned on, the watch lasted about four days. With some of the features turned off, you can expect a decent battery life of about seven days.
