Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time - E24 "Taking Down Nefarious and Azimuth"
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time is the seventh game in the Ratchet and Clank series, developed by Insomniac and published by Sony in 2009 for the PS3. This game takes place directly after the events of Quest for Booty and focuses on Ratchet, Quark and a new character named Alister Azimuth as they continue the search for Clank. Meanwhile, Clank had been taken by the Zoni at the end of Tools of Destruction to undergo training to become the senior caretaker of the Great Clock, a device designed by the Zoni to maintain temporal normality across the universe. Gameplay for this game is split between the duo, with Ratchet exploring the Breegus system and Clank navigating the Clock to fix temporal anomalies caused by Dr. Nefarious and his Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler forcing the Zoni in the Clock to flee. To accomplish this, Clank is given a Chronoscepter which acts as a weapon and as a method of solving puzzles, by allowing Clank to record versions of himself and play them back. As these anomalies are solved, Ratchet can access more areas of the system and continue his search.
Like previous games in the series, Ratchet has access to a variety of weapons and gadgets to help him, including the new Hover Boots, which allow Ratchet to quickly navigate planets. Devices are also gone and merged into weapons, allowing them to be upgraded with use. Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time is available on the PS3 store for $9.99.
