Tyre Saving Part 2: How to avoid being overtaken while saving tyres
When a driver performs tyre saving to protect against overheating and degradation to allow a later pit stop there are regions around the track where they'll still have to drive flat out to avoid being overtaken. By using strategy weights in Canopy we can mark some regions of the track as more important than others so we can look at what we must do to save the tyres elsewhere, and how much time it costs to defend a position with tyres that are degrading.
