After building several houses himself Pat Hennin set out to combine both old and new technology in future projects. With additional research and innovation a school was formed, (Shelter Institute) by Pat and Patsy Hennin and others in Bath, Main in 1974 teaching others how to build homes that are economical, energy efficient, and ecologically sound.
