If you are an English language teacher that is looking for up-to-date content for ELT and ESL classrooms then this video is for you. In this short video Russell will present 5 websites which are complete free or have some free material. The content includes articles, news stories or video stories which are really contemporary where each site provide either audio or video.
Russell will began with lower language level students and a site called Simple English News where you can find plenty of topics, all current news articles along with listening option. Great for the students to study listening and understanding of the language at home at lower levels.
If your students are at all different levels then News in Levels is the ideal site as it provides loads of articles and stories at all language levels. What is great about this website is that each story extend the language levels so you can listen to them progressively from lower to higher levels.
Next website Fluentize has some free material which provides you with a video stories and printable or interactive lesson plan. Very well developed and organised plans for your classes with set of activities connected to the stories which you will find very useful.
Elllo website has existed for a long time and I've chosen it because it is great for the students with loads of other student's recordings speaking English. You will hear a huge variety of student's accents talking over a contemporary issues. Some great features with this site like videos, transcript and some activities which are ideal for the students when working on their own.
Finally, Russell will look into a website called No Project which deals with particular topic of modern slavery so students become more aware of this issue through some very well developed topics. Plenty of reading, listening and exercises for the students ideal for classes and practicing at home.
