In this episode, we show you how to give Aluminium a vintage 100-year-old cast effect without using a forge. Our DIY process guides you step-by-step on transforming flat Aluminium stock into a cast-looking piece.
After creating cardboard templates, we use a plasma cutter to shape the Aluminium into a three-dimensional bracket. By welding and texturing these brackets with a needle scaler, we achieve a cast appearance. Our goal is to create a pair of brackets with a cast magnesium look that could be mistaken for being 100 years old.
