Launch Webinar: WRE's Regional Water Resources Plan for Eastern England - 14 December 2023
WRE’s regional plan has been developed using a collaborative and inclusive approach, building upon the draft plan published for consultation in November 2022 and the emerging plan published in January 2022. Our final plan has been revised, updated and improved following feedback we received as part of these consultations. We present a core best-value plan to 2050 with adaptive pathways that resolve the projected deficits in the public water supply in ways that take into account the needs of all sectors and the environment in the Eastern region. At the heart of the plan remains the need to support sustainable housing and economic growth, adapt to climate change impacts, and deliver the highest ambitions for restoring, protecting and improving the freshwater environment.
The session is chaired by WRE's independent chair, Dr Paul Leinster CBE. Alongside technical experts from the WRE team, we are joined by representatives from key water using sectors across Eastern England, who discuss the importance of water security for the power supply, navigation, agriculture and the environment.
