5 - Hot coffee by pineapple (me)
STORY IN DESCRIPTION
Released on approx December 4th 2014 | GD update at the time : 1.9
So the usual, tight timings that just ruin the level
Those hot coffee "pixel art" (I later discovered it's actually from picross since pyramid of kheops my first level) got screwed up in some update which messed up with layers (which didn't exist so when they became a thing it screwed up how they look in various levels)
Hot coffee is a reference to an easter egg in jmtb02's game achievement unlocked 2, which hid another easter egg cold coffee (and if you use the blue orb at the beginning to fall up you will get that)
It's also supposed to represent the pain of waking up in the morning (level starts at 6:00 but you keep snoozing till 7:00), with a breakfast theme, level is supposed to look caramel/milk/chocolatey hence the colors
I don't exactly remember the inspiration for wave part but I know that the original wave effect was shown to me by skitten (it was a preview for their level all aboard).but I really don't remember if it has anything to do with this level probably not (I'll bring that up in later levels because I spammed that stuff a lot)
Also seems like I learned to 3D wave part and corner pieces but again you will see I will comically forget that in later levels
The ufo part is tedious but if you time your clicks to the center of the square deco it's not that horrible (but without practice it definitely is)
Anyways some ideas here and there but without solid bases it all crumbles apart
If I had to remake this today (I won't) it would definitely be in a generic modern style it kinda looks fitting
Take home messages :
Avoid timings in non-demons no one enjoy those
Without a solid base no matter how good your ideas are the level just crumbles
Even without a base it's ok to build just to build really, it's one of many ways to improve.
Try to keep track of what you learned cuz well you can forget
