Pucon (in mapudungun: entrance to the mountain range) is a city and commune of the Province of Cautin, belonging to the Araucania Region, located in southern Chile.

The city of Pucón is located on the eastern shore of Lake Villarrica, 70 km from the border with Argentina through the Mamuil Malal Pass, 100 km southeast of Temuco and 780 km from the capital Santiago. It stands out for being the most important lake resort of Chile, with a great seasonal activity in the summer season.
It is known as the "Chilean capital of adventure tourism".
In its surroundings it has a variety of tourist attractions that complement its beaches on the lake, such as hot springs, ski resorts and national parks, among others. The rural area has the attraction of snow-capped volcanic cones, forests of fagáceas and conifers, and a great number of torrential rivers, some of which have waterfalls, cascades and rapids. Added to all this is the great variety of wild flora and fauna that make an ideal complement for national and foreign tourists.
