USWNT striker, NWSL Orlando Pride Captain, current Olympique Lyonnais Feminine (“OLF”) forward and global “face” of women's soccer, Alex Morgan scores two goals (a “brace”) in two minutes, during a Division 1 Women’s French League Match between her OLF club side and opponent, Albi Feminine, held away at Maurice Rigaud Stadium, which resulted in a 5-0 victory for Lyon. Morgan scored in the 66th and 69th minutes of play, after being subbed on at halftime for Swedish International, Caroline Seger. Both Morgan goals were assisted by midfielder and German International, Dzsenifer Marozsán. The first saw Morgan chip the keeper in a literal Kung Foo “Karate Chop Kick” and the second saw her beat the keeper yet again, this time on the ground. This pair of goals by Morgan comes on the heels of her three-goal match (“hat trick”) against Rodez Aveyron held approximately a week earlier on March 12th, 2017 at home at the Groupama OL Academy (Training Center) in Meyzieu, France during the French Cup (“Coupe de France”) Quarterfinals, with Morgan starting the match and going a full 90 minutes, her first complete game for either club or country since the USWNT’s early exit in the Quarterfinals of the 2016 Rio Olympics, where Team USA heartbreakingly fell to Sweden on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw in regulation and extra time.

Next up, the Lyon women will face current second-place Bundesliga team VFL Wolfsburg (“Wolfsburg”) in the first leg of the Women’s Champions League Quarterfinals to be held on March 29th, 2017 live at 8:45 PM at Parc Olympique Lyonnais (“Parc OL”) in Décines-Charpieu, a suburb of Lyon, France. Parc OL, nicknamed the Grand Stade and the Stade des Lumières, is a 59,186-seat stadium, which replaced Stade de Gerland in January 2016. OLF are the defending Women’s Champions League (“European Cup” or “Coupe de Europe”) winners, claiming the title in 2016 along with the D1 Feminine League and French Cup (“Coupe de France”) titles, as well to complete the Championship Treble (“Triple”). The OLF women look to move one step closer to reclaiming all three titles again with a win over Wolfsburg in not just the first, but both, legs of the Women’s Champions League Quarterfinals, with the second match hosted by the German squad on March 29th, 2017. In between legs, OLF will once again face Rodez, this time in a Division 1 French league match hosted away by their opponent on March 26th, 2017. After another league match, away at AS Saint-Etienne, OLF will then host Henin-Beaumont in the French Cup Semifinal on April 16th, 2017.
