Israeli forces 'on outskirts of Gaza City' and rescue captured soldier
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out any ceasefire in Gaza - declaring it was a "time for war... for our common future".

As the heavy bombardment continues, the Hamas appointed Gaza Health Ministry said more than 8,300 Palestinians have now been killed.
According to Palestinian witnesses - Israeli tanks reached the outskirts of Gaza City - entering the Zaytun district. Reports suggest the IDF took control of Salah al-Din Road, a major route linking the north and south.
To the north, intense fighting has been reported between Israeli forces and Hamas near the Mediterranean coast.
