The Origins of "Kane" The Undertaker!
No one will ever think of Mark Calloway as being the man who played Kane the Undertaker. Yes, while in the companies history books Kane is the name of his brother, it wasn’t always this way because, way back when the gimmick was first conceived of in 1990, the idea had been to give The Undertaker a Christian name too. And this name was supposed to be a reference to the biblical pairing of Cain and Abel. Of course, despite being referenced as such on a couple of house shows prior to his main roster debut at that October’s Survivor Series, by the time Calloway hit TV, the Kane would be dropped from his name and he’d instead go by the moniker we all know and love today.
