In the Later Parts of Act 1 in Baldur's Gate 3, you'll find the Githyanki Creche that your Companion Lae'zel has urged you to go to.
Within you'll find the Zhaith'Isk, the Githyanki Device that lae'zel believes to be the only cure to your Tadpole Affliction.
Letting Lae'zel sit in this chair can only instill negative permanant effects on your Gith companion, however if you push ahead of her you can gain a special perk by passing a few skill checks that will force your dream companion to intervene.
