World's Tallest Statue - Statue of Unity Complete Guide | Ekta Nagar | How To Book, Stay & more
Hey guys, this place was in our bucket list from a very long time and we finally ticked it off. It was such a great feeling visiting the World's tallest statue dedicated to Iron Man of India - Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
The statue is located in Ekta nagar which is approximately 90 kms away from Vadodara. Nearest airport is Vadodara and there are direct trains too for Ekta Nagar.
You can plan for a day trip from Vadodara but we would highly recommend to stay at least for one night as there are so many things to see and explore in Ekta Nagar and not just the statue. So here is what we covered in our 2 days trip.
PLEASE NOTE: Everything in Ekta Nagar is CLOSED ON MONDAYS.
Day 1:
We of coursed started with Statue of Unity which is 182 meters tall and twice in size of Statue of Liberty. You can get access of 2 zones one is at the feet level where you can also see museum and know about the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and one is at the chest level where you can enjoy the panoramic view of surroundings.
Ticket: 150 for only Base Level and 380 for base level and viewing gallery
Timing: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Then we went to Khalvani Eco Tourism, it is famous for River Rafting but you can even go just to enjoy the view of Narmada river and click some pictures at this picturesque bridge.
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Then it was lunch time so we went straight to Ekta Nursery and had authentic tribal lunch at their cafe and then explored the nursery. You can also buy some handicraft products from here.
Time: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM | Entry Fees: INR 50
For Lunch: 12:15 PM to 3:15 PM - Cost: INR 220
From there we clicked some pictures at the best view point from here you get to see the beautiful front view of the statue.
No Entry Fees.
On the way we went to see Dino Trail, Maze Garden which is the largest in the country and very fascinating Miyawaki Forest. It's a technique to grow a dense forest in just 3 to 4 years whereas in convention method it takes around 30 years. A must visit place indeed.
Time: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
After that it was already evening and it was time for Projection Mapping show. It's basically a light & sound show where they explain the life journey of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It was a super interesting show and we would suggest not to skip it and book in advance. Duration of the show is 23 mins. When purchasing your Statue of Unity ticket, you can choose to view the Projection Mapping show from the SoU Campus, closer to the Statue, Museum, the Food Court, and Boating Complex.
Time: 7:00 PM
We ended our first day with spending some time at this vibrant and lively Unity Glow Garden and at 8:30 PM there is an amazing light and sound show at the Sardar Sarovar Dam.
Day 2
We started second day with Jungle Safari at Zoological park which is divided in different zones and a very very huge space. We spotted so many different animals & bird and hands down the best Zoological park in our country. It roughly takes at least 2 hours to see the entire park.
Entry Fees: INR 200 | Time: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Another unique garden in Ekta Nagar is Arogya Van which is dedicated to our health. Each corner of park is designed very mindfully. We loved this place.
Entry Fees: INR 50 | Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Then we hired an e-cycle and did some cycling at the riverfront. It was a very beautiful and peaceful experience.
Cost: INR 250 | Time: 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM
And ended our day with spending some time by the Sardar Sarovar Dam.
Apart from these place we also went to Valley of Flowers, Vishwa Van and here are the things we missed out Ekta cruise and Narmada Aarti which was not operational due to Monsoon. But if you are going during winters/summer then do not miss it.
