The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad is a tourist line that runs along Oregon’s Pacific Ocean coastline out of the town of Garibaldi. Beginning operations in 2003, the railroad travels over a portion of the old Southern Pacific Railroad Tillamook Branchline that once connected the town of Tillamook to Portland and the rest of the national rail network. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit the railroad in late 2018 and early 2019 to take part in two special photography events, one organized by Lerro Productions and the other by Trains Magazine. Both of these events featured the railroad’s McCloud Railway number 25 as well as the privately owned Polson Logging Company number 2. Let’s watch these two locomotives as they pull their trains over the Southern Pacific Tillamook Branch.
