For a long time the only way to sell merch on Spotify was through Merchbar— a truly BAD service.
But fortunately we now have a new way: in Oct 2021 Shopify and Spotify announced a new ecommerce partnership that allows artists to directly list merch products on Spotify.
Now all you need to sell is (1) a Spotify for Artists account and (2) a Shopify store. It only takes like 20 minutes to setup.
Merch has always been a way to add additional revenue streams for artists. And now Spotify profiles are like virtual merch tables— a place to sell vinyls, shirts and more.
