Blender and The 3D Cursor
Not sure about the Blender 3D Cursor? Neither was I when I picked up Blender a few times.
It drove me crazy, what is this, why is it there? It's not in any modelling application I've used before.
Blender 2.8 and up has tamed it enough for me to finally get my head around it.
