The First-Ever Photo Taken For the News.

This daguerreotype depicts arrest procedure.
However, technology didn't make it possible to reprint photos in newspapers until the end of the 19th century. They had to be replaced by engravings.

The criminal wearing a woman’s blouse and skirt, sitting in a chair in a police station. Dressed as a woman, he hid from the police. But, it seems, he slipped up.

One of the detachment is receiving orders by telephone from the battery commander. Qingdao was then a German port, under attack by the British and their Japanese allies.
