Final Cut Pro was updated to version 10.7 …and then again with version 10.7.1. Both times I saw the “What's New in Final Cut Pro” splash screen. It looked like the update solved one of the biggest problems with Final Cut Pro — Timeline Scrolling.

When previewing video edits in the app, the timeline wouldn't scroll along to match what was being displayed. The new “Scrolling Timeline” feature fixes that. Except there's a problem — how to turn that on?

That's what this video is about. It shows how to “set the timeline to scroll automatically during playback”. By following the documentation created by Apple, this new setting can be enabled. Basically, it's a setting in the “Playback” section of Final Cut Pro. Once that setting was checked, the timeline automatically scrolled and the Playhead followed the action nicely.
