"Mriya" will live. How do they plan to restore the legendary aircraft
Experts have scenarios for the restoration of the Mriya, which will continue to set world recordsUkrainian designers plan to build a new largest military transport aircraft AN-225. Yuri Gusev, Director General of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, spoke about this.
"We have a plan to create a new Ukrainian Mriya, we already have several scenarios. Now our Antonov specialists are working on studying what is left of our aircraft. The tail section and engines have partially survived, in particular, several of them , can be used in production. We definitely use some units, but the new Mriya should be even better. This aircraft has set 240 world records, and we have ambitions that the new AN-225, built in Ukraine, will set several more world records. records," Gusev said.
He noted that the possibility of restoring the aircraft is now being discussed with international partners.
"At the same time, we are discussing with our international partners to create an aerospace coalition to restore this unique aircraft. Unique not only for our country but for the whole world. The aircraft, which is the largest, the aircraft that was involved in various space programs, the aircraft, which can and should become another symbol of the development of mankind, civilization and aerospace technologies," said Yury Gusev.
