Our brains are not designed to be in rational , reasoning mode 24/7. To function effectively and to give the unconscious mind time to process everything we take in, your brain needs downtime. It so happens that this is also when a lot of the most powerful creative thinking takes place.’
Your mind will find something to do
Thanks for watching this video. As promised, here’s something you can try at home to get to grips with this information.
Adopt this creative habit by doing this:
Exercise:
Put your phone on silent, stand up and walk away from your computer. Find yourself somewhere to sit where there is nothing for you to do except sit and be.
Try not to fidget or do mental work, just sit still until you start to get restless.
Now, pay attention to what is going on in your mind. Where does it go? What problems do you tackle and wrestle with?
Now ask yourself, how often do you normally think about those things, when you are never bored?
