If you assume that the word "supercruise" in Elite: Dangerous means "something that makes your ship go fast," you'd be correct as fast as a Roadrunner being chased by a coyote! . But what if you could make your ship go faster? That question is now answerable thanks to the Elite Dangerous most recent patch, which has introduced a supercruise overcharge function for players to make use of and I have strapped it to a Dolphin FOR SCIENCE.
This new module is available only for C-rated frame drives and found at some of the more technologically advanced locations around the galaxy, but it looks like it does precisely what one would assume, granting ships fielding the module a significant boost while in supercruise. However, as one Redditor demonstrates, engaging the feature comes at a significant cost in terms of fuel usage and ship heat, so use wisely, if at all.
