More and more photographers are using DNG and other raw image formats in there photography. In fact, in December 2020, Apple made raw image format available on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max in the form of DNG. Whether you are already using GIMP or you are just starting with GIMP as a free alternative to Adobe Photoshop, you can use Darktable or Raw Therapee as DNG and raw image converter plugins for GIMP.
