How To Add The Default Transition Using A Keyboard Shortcut In Final Cut Pro
You can quickly apply transitions to your clips using the Command-T keyboard shortcut. Final Cut Pro comes with the default transition set to Cross Dissolve, but you can change the default to any transition.
Add the default transition using a keyboard shortcut
1. In Final Cut Pro, click the Tools pop-up menu (shown below) at the top of the timeline, choose the Select tool, then click the edge of a clip (an edit point) in the timeline.
2. Press Command-T.
The default transition is applied to the selected edit point.
