Fake streams are a massive issue for the music industry. It's no mystery that the system can be gamed, and it's hitting the music business where it hurts: their wallet.

Now we've all heard of bot farms and fake playlists, and though that may sound like a problem reserved solely for independent artists like you and me, it turns out the issue is much, much bigger than that.

Artists and labels at all levels have turned to gaming the system to move tracks up the charts, leading some estimates to put our collective annual losses as high as $1 billion.
