In the village of Pylypets, for a long time, there lived a beautiful girl named Mariyka, in whom a young guy Ivan was in love. Mariika was the daughter of wealthy parents, and Ivan was an ordinary poor man. The girl's family was against their meetings, forbidding her daughter to even see Ivan. The lovers had to meet in a secret place - on the hill Vysoky Verk, under the Borzhavskoy valley. Over time, Mariiki's mother learned about her meeting with her lover. She began to curse the young couple in a gust of anger, ran to their date. From her rage began a great downpour with lightning and thunder, stormy streams from which descended from the valleys and carried away holding Mariuk and Ivan in the abyss. On their way to death there was a waterfall, which by force separated the lovers. They disappeared in a noisy foam of mountain streams.
