3. Interpreting Linear Regression Outputs in SAS
This lecture moves from theory of OLS to building simple models in SAS using PROC REG with one independent variable. The lecture covers the syntax in SAS and the explanation of the output.
Topics covered include Sum of Squared Errors – SSE, Root Mean Square Error – RMSE, Coefficient of Variation and R-Square with interpretation of each term and using goodness of fit criterion. The lecture covers the basic derivation and interpretation of the r-square goodness of fit.
The lecture also covers testing significance of the regression and the independent variable estimates.
