FIRMWARE UPDATE 1.2.1 for CANON 5D Mk III - Walkthrough and Comparison
The Canon 5D Mark III Firmware Update came out today 4/30/13. I walk you through how the camera functioned before the update, I guide you on HOW TO INSTALL the firmware, and show you the difference after it's installed. Firmware Version 1.2.1 allows clean uncompressed HD to be output from the HDMI port WHILE recording, and it keeps the LCD screen functional so you have a practical way to have a director's monitor! This is a game changer.
This allows easy focus pulling for an AC or yourself via a hi-res monitor, and it allows you to record uncompressed HD externally, for more options in grading and post.
