Part 14 of "Japanese History: The Textbook," a historical documentary series based entirely on Japanese-language educational materials. On this episode, we take a look at the latter half of the Kamakura period, focusing primarily on the Mongol Invasions, the despotism of the Hôjô clan, the agricultural and economic advances which majorly shook up Kamakura Period society, and finally the rise of Emperor Godaigo and resultant fall of the Kamakura Shogunate.
