Starfield's traits closely resemble the trait system present in Fallout: New Vegas. Unlike perks which offer straightforward character bonuses, traits in Starfield come with both positive and negative effects. Selecting a trait requires thoughtful consideration of its advantages and disadvantages. On a positive note, if you later change your mind about a trait, there's an option to remove it in Starfield.
