Every birth really is different and somehow it feels like the first time. I don't think it gets less painful, but its the mother's disposition that changes so it gets more bearable.

Early morning of Dec 6 after about only 2hrs of sleep, I woke up with a bloody discharge and started feeling minor contractions. I also noticed my mucus plug come out when I peed. Same thing happened the day of Nicky's birth. So I had a strong feeling my Dec 8 (feast of the Immaculate Conception) dream birth day wasn't gonna happen anymore.

Heard mass at 630am in case I gave birth anytime. Contractions started to become a bit stronger at mass and was consistent till I went to my scheduled ultrasound. Ive been leaking amniotic fluid for 2 weeks by this time so we had regular ultrasounds to check my water (still had too much water btw). By 10am messaged my birthing team. They arrived at noon. At this point my contractions were still manageable. I was 100% effaced but only 1-2cm dilated. I put Nicky to sleep amidst my labor, did some ball exercises and stretching and we started filling up the birthing pool. By past 3pm I was crying at every surge. The contractions became more intense. Both kids were already awake from nap. We let them watch their birthing videos to refresh them for this upcoming one. Nicky held my hand with every surge and would accompany me to the bathroom everytime I peed, while Coco massaged my back.

I could only dream birthing with the kids around and still have a gentle and worry free birth. I never thought it was possible. But our Lord made it possible. The kids were so behaved, supportive and sympathetic.

Coco was so excited to join me in the pool and even changed to his swimming clothes. Nicky couldnt bear seeing me in pain, he kept crying so we moved him to the other bedroom to keep him distracted. By about 4pm Ms. Ai our midwife did another internal exam and just like that I was already 8cm dilated. Went into the pool with Kiko. By this time the surges were extremely intense. I didn't think it could get more intense than that, until I felt a pop. It was so intense that it felt like forever. I promised our Lord that I will offer up all the pain and suffering from this birth to relieve Him of His sufferings and for the conversion of more souls, I tried to offer every surge as consciously as I could from the beginning. But close to 6pm the pain was so strong that I begged our Lady to make the baby come out, sabi ko hanggang dito nlng ako. And rt after my prayer, Noah crowned. The intensity of it esp in the crowning was so much (even more so than my previous birth) that I felt like I was burning alive. It's no surprise because at 5:56pm he came out at a whopping 7.55lbs. The biggest of all my kids. Kiko caught him with a double cord coil on his neck just like my other 2 babies. We simply removed the coil and embraced Noah in our arms. And just like that, I now have 3 boys 🥰 Coco snipped his umbilical cord after he absorbed all of the preciousness in it 🤭 Our Lord is really the gift that keeps giving, He gave us our most beautiful present in time for Christmas ❤️

God is amazing! Omnia in bonum! #waterbirth #birthstory
