The face of his half-brother and successor Florian or Florianus who had a short reign and also the emperor Probus, an active and successful general as well as a conscientious administrator. In his reign of six years he secured prosperity for the inner provinces while he withstood repeated invasions of the barbarian tribes on almost every sector of the Empire's frontier.
