Vasili Mitrokhin was a senior archivist for the Soviet Union's KGB, who defected to the UK in 1992 after providing the British with a vast collection of files. The documents (aka The Mitrokhin Archive) revealed the KGB's "playbook of dirty tricks" including plots to worsen race relations in the US, phone tapping of major Western gov't and corporate officials, its massive theft of military and other technologies, and detailed specifics about Soviet spies and sleeper agents operating in the West and the spy techniques that they employed in their work.
