In this video you see how to connect a guitar amp to audio interface and listen a demo with various styles of cables.
the "noise" is grounding noise becase the cables are not balanced, in the Heaphones i put a (*) in mono because you can record stereo if you connect it to a double split cable/adaptor, as you can hear XLR cables transfer the signal better,
my favorite is the LINE OUT 2 XLR/1 XLR because sounds bold and very close to the sound of the amp but if you use stereo pedals you have to choose the last LINE OUT 2 XLR/2 XLR.
