It's 6:00am and this morning's yoga feels like a warm 60-degree day in December

Sun Shining

Every year we get this... a bonus week of elevated temperature

A few days of 50 degrees...

And ONE DAY where the temp gets to 60 degrees

That's TODAY

But after this, it's all downhill from here

People will comment on global warming, weather control, the ozone...

SUVs, cow farts, and the near future of electric vehicle dominance...

Tornados that traverse 6 states, floods, and unlikely snowfall predictions...

But there's one primary concern, comment, and question for the impending eventuality

and that's

COLD'S COMING!

Just remember friends, there is no bad weather, only bad outfit choices

And after today, local ski mountains will begin

MAKING SNOW

It's been a minute since I've clicked into a pair of ski bindings

BTW, did you see the "drone fail" at that slalom event recently?

BC... it looked to me like that machine was in attack mode

anyway

In high school, I was a pretty BA skier dude

I took a few trips to Canada and Vermont,

skied some mountains that are apparently a big deal

jumped off cliffs, skied out of bounds, and had the patrol called on me a few times for it

I ripped inside snowboard parks, half pipes, and on top of rail slides

And this one time...

went on a school trip to a mountain called Camelback... right here in PA actually

I chair lifted with a guy named Brent

He was the first Brent that I ever met

and it was with Brent that I enjoyed

for the first time

the wonderful medicine of the green flower

(BTW, have you ever heard of blue lotus psych...edelic tea)

anyway

The slopes were lush that day

the weather was warm

and suspended 50 feet above the trees in a mechanical, mountain climbing bench

I was high

TBH

I probably wouldn't ski if there wasn't a ski lift

...

This year marks my return to the slopes after a very long time

WHY?

BC my oldest daughter has the same natural downhill descension inclination that I did

(BTW, did you know that "descension" is considered a "rare" word)

In past years, the oldest of my offspring has been hitting up to the local ski mountain with a friend and their parents

It's been great

"Here's money for food... see you in a few hours... I'll be here... in the warm."

but circumstances have led to a descension of communication with that friend

And now my lawful duties as Dad have been enacted

So I'll be chllin on the lift and illin on the drift

...

Back to the high, high temps, and imminent descension of temperature upon us

If there's one thing that is apparent during altered states of perception

it's this

There is no good or bad

only light and dark

and the expectation on the continuation of inspiration and expiration

is taking a lot for granted

This week I was told by the divine that spines really like it when I crack them

So I'll have to continue doing that

Until I expire
