Here's a step-by-step guide on how to remove water-soluble ink stains.

Step 1: Pre-treatment.
First, wash your hands to get off any ink there. Absorb any excess ink by first blotting, not rubbing, at the stain with a dry cloth, then covering the stain in table salt.

Step 2: Stain Removal.
Lay down a clean towel, then dab at the stain with a soaked cloth or cotton ball. If the stain doesn't liquefy or it's spreading, chances are it's not water-soluble. We'll cover that type of stain in another short video!
Next, apply detergent, hand soap, or a dedicated stain remover, and massage it in with a soft brush. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then rinse. Repeat this process until the stain is mostly or completely gone.

Step 3: Washing.
Check your garment's care label, then put it in the washing machine according to those instructions. Don't put it in the dryer until you're sure that the stain is gone, though, as the heat may set any remaining stains.
