Magic Leap - SpatialBRD App by Engage VR
Welcome to our app submission for the Magic Leap One - #MLShowOfHands #MLDevJam "Can I Get A Show of Hands Challenge", the application we created is a short experimental concept using hands and gesture recognition for interaction throughout the app. The experiment we were aiming for was showing what it would be like to work with a Digital Animal Assistant in a Spatial Environment. Being this is our first attempt with submitting a application to the Magic Leap App Store but also understanding with working with Hands and Gesture Recognition and defining the experience.
This first video is a short walk through of interacting with the bird, the goal was to present a Digital Animal Assistant and define what the experience would be like. The first interaction we wanted to accomplish was feeding the bird. As you will see in the video, we can pick up food, feed the bird and the bird will respond and interact. after exploring this further we discovered where the interactions needed to be continual and a one to one experience and what would be our next steps to achieve this.
There were alot of things left out of this build and may be ready for future updates, the deadline for submission is December 31st and we wanted to attempt to get something pushed.
We will create a blog post on some of our discoveries and next steps to make the bird spatially aware of the user and the environment.
