Adventure reporter Dan Monskey brings us a story about an annual climbing competition held for the past 20 years at the indoor Vertical Endeavors climbing facility in St Paul, Minn. Here, we'll see climbers "flash," which means to successfully and cleanly complete a climbing route on the first attempt after having received beta or information of some form about the climb. Since the event is held in a controlled environment, and a highly competitive spirit is in the air, climbers will be pushing themselves to see how far and extreme they can go in a no-holds-barred competition.
