Hangout Quests in Genshin Impact have a lot of potential to be used as mechanics for expanding the lore of the game through multi-endings. Unfortunately, most of them end up being monotonous dialogue-driven walking simulators.

The recent Kaeya Hangout is a perfect example of how a well-made version of such quests could elevate the character in question while simultaneously expanding the lore of the game significantly by utilizing the branching story options to foreshadow and hint at events from the past and future of the game.
