VST Plugin with Amazing Sounds
The Story:
Inspired by the wonderful and rich culture of India and the amazing Asian community in the West Midlands of England.
I had a plan in my mind to create a sample pack that would truly reflect India and its spirit of kindness and respect for other people and nations, so without further ado, I reached out to the Asian community in Birmingham to find out more about their musical journeys and I was amazed to find some of the most talented musicians such as Viraj and Satvik who are well known in the community.
Thanks to their help I was able to sample a good mix of Indian musical instruments such as the Bansuri flute, Shruti Box, and much more, they also put me in contact with 2 other great musical artists, Mithun and Dumindu who currently work and live in India.
It’s taken me 2 weeks to get all of the sampling done and I had to start from scratch a few times because of noise contamination etc, however, all results were achieved in the end and bit by bit the production came together with surprising results.
I have put together a mix of instruments that work nicely with each other providing that you set the volume levels correctly in the mix.
As an added bonus I have composed 18 Bansuri flute phrases that were performed by Mithun for the sample pack.
On the lower dark yellow keys, you will find the Tanpura instrument and there are 2 volume controls that allow the mixing of 2 distinct Tanpura sounds.
Further up the keyboard, you have the light yellow keys that play the 18 Bansuri phrases.
The single pinky color key activates the airflow to the Shruti Box drones that you will find in the middle area of the VST, the various notes can be changed just like on any original Shruti Box.
Finally the upper keys in light brown play the Bansuri flute of which there are 2 volume controls that allow you to mix the original Bansuri flute with a pad type of flute.
