Transcript:

What is goody gang, so today I am going to be talking about the truth about fontaine and if it really is ending early or not as you might have seen all over the internet. As usual, please do not forget to subscribe to be updated on the latest genshin news, and make sure to join our genshin discord server, link in the description. Our server is very active and I personally am active in it as well so it is easier for me to connect with you guys in there. So as you might have seen across the internet is that fontaine will go up to the 4.6 patches and then we will go straight to the 5.0 Natlan patches which would be pretty wild. Usually a region gets 8 patches and so it would be weird to get 6 patches so lets just take a look and see if this is truly the case. With Sumeru, the first 3 patches were only 5 weeks long meanwhile the rest were the usual 6 weeks long, so with Fontaine the 7 patches we would get would be 6 weeks long. This means Sumeru was 51 weeks long when it could have been 54 weeks long, and is why we are getting Fontaine 12 days earlier than when Sumeru was released. If Fontaine does go up to version 4.6, it means the region will be 42 weeks long, we would get Natlan by June 5th of 2024, and this is very questionable on if this will be the case. The reason why is because all the time that it takes into developing the story, characters, map, and all of that takes a lot of time and I assume the last 2 months of each region is used to polish the upcoming region, so unless they somehow ramped up the process I am not sure how chopping off two months would get them prepared for the region. So one reason why this could be the case that Fontaine ends early is because the developers kind of have a history for colorism of some sorts and since we know Natlan is a region with darker toned people, they might just rush over the region and not care too much about it. This was a theory from one source about the Natlan development but I personally think if they really cared about it then they would not be putting a region like that in the first place but who knows. Now a reason why Fontaine could get the usual 8 patch cycles however is because of some evidence shown by another source who commented under this main post. The source did say that this information isnt necessarily fake, but might not be accurate either because something similar actually happened on Sumeru. So there is something called current dispatch server data and this has all the patch numbers from 4.0 to 4.6, and then a jump to 5.0 which is where this stemmed from. However, a similar situation happened where on July 4th 2022, the dispatch server only showed the sumeru versions until 3.7 before jumping to 4.0. They also did not have 3.5 or 3.6 at this time so it went from 3.0 to 3.4, and then a jump to the 3.7 patch but we all know now that we have the complete 3.0-3.8 patches for Sumeru. So what this means is that we could either end Fontaine in 4.6 or it is another one of these situations where 4.7 and 4.8 are mapped out to be in the game but are just not in the server yet. If I have to be completely honest though the .7 and .8 patches of every region are like filler versions and makes the game very slow, so I would actually be very hyped if we get to skip to natlan after 4.6. However I also understand hoyo needs the time to polish the game and make the next region just as great so we will have to wait and see. But what do you think, do you think we will have the complete 9 fontaine patches or do you think we will have 7 fontaine patches and jump to natlan, let me know in the comments below.
