In this lesson, we will learn how to classify triangles according the angles inside of the triangle and also according to the lengths of the sides of the triangle. In terms of angle, we will learn acute triangles which have an acute angle, obtuse triangles which have an obtuse angle, and right triangles which have a single right angle (90 degree angle). In terms of the sides of the triangle, we will learn how to classify equilateral triangles which have all equal sides, isosceles triangles where two sides are equal, and scalene triangles where all three sides are unequal. Classifying triangles like this is important in geometry, algebra, trigonometry, physics and calculus.
