This guide is for Ford 2.2 engines. If your unit is a 3.2, you must complete the process within 10 minutes. This is due to the design of the variable flow oil pump. If oil is left to drain for longer than 10 minutes on 3.2 engines, the oil pump may fail to prime and leave the engine in a critical no lubrication situation. Contact your Ford dealer for more information on this matter.
