The Heaviest IRON165, the FE with H1s Typing Sounds

Keyboard: Smith+Rune IRON165 FE (https://smithrune.com/). All gaskets. Copper bottom.
Plate: FR4 Plate printed from JLCPCB using available plate files.
Sound Dampening: 1/16" foam
Switches: H1 switches lubed by client with 205g0 and 105 oil on the springs

Keycaps: GMK White-On-Black on the modifiers and GMK Minimal with Black on White Hangul Add on kit.
Deskmat: randomfrankp x Novelkeys deskmat.
Cable: Black Flemo cable.
The Iron165 FE is a big flex. Owning this board is really owning a piece of history. With that being said, it's not the nicest sounding board I have ever typed on. The Iron165 was already tough to work with, but this one was even tougher. The final build with switches and stabs lubed by the client.. ended up sounding extremely muted. Creamy, yes. But muted, very much so.
Let's take a step back. The FE variant has the copper bottom which is extremely heavy, patinas really easily (whether you may like that or not), and actually makes the sound more tinny/high pitched. This isn't great for sound, but it's amazing in the hand. The board can literally dent my desk. That by itself is super cool.
With the rarity of this board however.. you are definitely paying for the status symbol if you want this. Nothing wrong with that - it is a niche collector hobby after all. But would I recommend this one who is just trying to get a nice sounding/feeling board? Probably not.
But damn, does it look and feel good in your hands. Thank you Ken for letting me rebuild this for you. A review of this board and the SE Iron165 will be coming to the channel soon!
