Curious about Tableau vs Microsoft Power BI? We will use Tableau and Power BI to create simple bar chart / graph in this tutorial. You will be able to see how similar and how different these two tools are.
Some of the tasks that will be demonstrated for both tools are:
connecting to a data source
setting default properties
creating basic horizontal bar graph
coloring bars using different measure
sorting the bars
adding filters (slicers)
formatting titles, labels, and tooltip
showing reference line (average line)
exporting underlying data
There are also tool-specific features that we will look at - data highlighter, zoom slider, show as a table
